The fusion of youth and academic brilliance is all set to power Malaysia in the face of challenges posed by Industry 4.0 and climate change. Bakri MP Yeo Bee Yin, at 35; has been entrusted with that role in her capacity as minister of Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and The Environment. With her chemical engineering education background earned at UTP and Cambridge, Yeo is well suited to drive the nation forward through development initiatives with sustainability in mind.

DATO’ MOHD ABDUL KARIM ABDULLAH
Group Managing Director/Group Chief Executive, Serba Dinamik Holdings Berhad
Dato’ Karim, a mechanical engineer-turned-entrepreneur has been the driving force behind the rise of Serba Dinamik. As one of 3 partners who behind the company in Bintulu, in 1993, the company has evolved through both organic and inorganic growth which now has a global presence.
Serba Dinamik offers a range of engineering services from repairs, maintenance and overhaul to plant maintenance as well power plant operations. It has grown in size and stature since its listing on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia and now has a market capitalisation of RM4.7 billion (June 18, 2018).

Understanding customer behaviour is key in driving PDB’s business. Having built intimate knowledge of the industry through his early stints at market analyisis, Aadrin has been at the forefront of forging partnerships at Business to Business and Business to Customer levels to open up new avenues of engagement with the various stakeholders. How far these innovations attract new customers while maintaining the loyalty of existing ones will be key in powering PDB forward.

Dr. Ir. Ahmad Jaafar Abd. Hamid (Dr AJ) is the Managing Director of TNB Energy Services Sdn. Bhd. (TNBES), a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNB. He has 30 years working experience in various departments in TNB from power system planning, project implementation, grid operation, customer engagement and sustainable energy development. As head of TNBES, he has led the development and commercialization of the first ever product of TNB called MaEVi (Making Electricity Visible), a home energy management system. Having been recently awarded the Green Future Leadership award by The Golden Globe Tigers, he is committed to help TNB customers in managing their electricity consumption via the customer-centric solution, MaEVi.

KRISHNA RAJAGOPAL
CEO AKATI Consulting (M) Sdn. Bhd
Krishna is a well-renowned expert in the IT industry focusing on Security, Forensics and Training. Krishna's passion for Information Technology has kept him active in the field for two decades. He particularly focuses in Defence in Depth framework strategy formulation for corporates that encompasses areas such as Penetration Testing, Computer Forensics, SIEM and DLP. Krishna has contributed extensively in helping numerous Governments and Global Banks to adapt to the Information Technology Era. Krishna holds more than 50 different professional certifications and is recognized internationally as one of the best in the industry for IT Forensics / Computer Security. His professional certification includes ISO27001:2013, Lead Auditor, Prince2 Certified Practitioner, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and numerous others.

MITCHELL PEDEN
Managing Director Volvo Trucks Malaysia
Coming from the world of banking, Peden has built intimate knowledge of the automotive sector having served for 11 years in the passenger vehicle market with General Motors Holden and the Ford Motor Company. He now heads the Malaysian operations after being part of the Volvo Group family in Australia for 13 years. Since 2005, Peden moved to Volvo Trucks Australia, where he began by serving as Regional Sales Manager before moving up the ranks to VP in Marketing, Communications and Operational Services. In 2013 he was appointed VP Sales, Volvo Trucks Australia & Oceania. Beginning August 2018, Peden will oversee the entire business operations of Volvo Trucks in Malaysia and Brunei.

BEN FLANNER
Agriculture Director, CEO, and co-founder of Brooklyn Grange rooftop Farm, based in New York City
Brooklyn Grange is the world’s largest soil based rooftop farm, recognised as global leader in urban agriculture. Prior to founding the Brooklyn Grange, BEN FLANNER co-founded and managed the Eagle Street Rooftop farm in 2009. A pioneering urban farm operation, the business produces vegetables, herbs, hot sauce and honey on over 2 ½ acres of intensive green roofs, and sells its produce via restaurants, farmer’s markets and community-based outlets.

ERIC-JAN PLEIJSTER
Co-Founder, LOLA Landscape Architects
The name holds special significance – for LOLA landscape architect’s remit is to turn LOst Landscapes (hence LOLA), into rich, vivid and beautiful spaces. Today, LOLA which calls itself a progressive landscape architecture practice, based in Rotterdam has built for itself a portfolio of projects that enhances the quality of urban life where once the option was the bulldozer. ERIC-JAN PLEIJSTER is the author of the award-winning book – Dutch Dikes; that woke people up to the prospects dikes that protect the populace offer and the hidden danger it poses.

LOUIS FAURE
Social Entrepreneur, Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, the Philippines
Louis works for Gawad Kalinga, an NGO which employs a comprehensive approach to ending poverty, from building more than 3000 intentional communities to fostering the creation of social enterprises in the province. Louis mentors local and foreign aspiring young entrepreneurs and change makers; youths from the poorest background with SEED (School for Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development), to the most privileged with the internship programs in partnership with global academic institutions.

CEO & Exec Director, Genovasi Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
DESIGN Thinking is now the buzz-word bandied about with the aim of inculcating the spirit of innovation; amongst the youth of the nation. This task is being undertaken by Genovasi Malaysia Sdn Bhd; a public-private sector initiative which has been headed for more than a year now by Dato' Lee Yew Meng as its CEO and Executive Director. Dato' Lee comes with a 38-year career in Sales & Marketing and Communications, having worked in various mainstream Malaysian organisations as well as Agensi Inovasi Malaysia. Influencing the youth of today is important to plant the seeds of innovation into the mindset of future leaders who will fill key positions and steer both the civil and public sectors into the future.

DR. ARDHASENA SOPAHELUWAKAN
Deputy Director, Climate And Air Quality Research, Agency For Meteorology, Climatology And Geophysics, Indonesia
As Head of Climate Analysis and Information Subdivision of the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics, Pak ARDHASENA SOPAHELUWAKAN has to contend with the volatile geography of his vast country. He sits on a vast library of climatic information built over the years studying volcanic eruptions as well as regular peat fires, valuable in predicting and coping with the seismic forces of nature in this region.

JAYDEN KOAY
Founder, CityFarm Malaysia
If CityFarm Malaysia founder JAYDEN KOAY has his way Malaysia’s vegetable supply would come fresh from indoors, he and his colleagues are at the forefront of the movement to grow vegetables indoors using hydroponics, aiming to produce enough for the local and export markets. Koay will present his case on the setting up of high tech urban farming at SLIC 2018.

RISNAWATI UTAMI
Founder, Ohana Indonesia & Disability Rights Envoy to the UN
Making a go of life in any big city is a challenge, even for the able-bodied and Ohana, a Yogjakarta-based non-profit organisation aims to put that right. Led by its founder Ibu RISNAWATI UTAMI, Ohana develops research programs to support policy advocacy and to advance disability rights. It builds networks and alliances to create collaboration programs to provide an outlet for the creative energy of the disabled.

HAMDAN MAJEED
Managing Director, Think City
HAMDAN ABDUL MAJEED was a former director at Khazanah Nasional Bhd, the investment arm of the Malaysian government. He used to lead Khazanah’s northern regional office with the mandate to seek out strategic investment opportunities. At Think City, a Khazanah subsidiary, Hamdan implements innovative urban solutions and manages urban regeneration initiatives. With his investment banking background, Hamdan successfully managed the Public Grants Programme which catalysed urban regeneration of Penang’s George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

DAVID LANTZ
Sustainability Manager for Southeast Asia, Scania
At Scania, aggression is not necessarily a corollary that follows trucking. The Swedish brands is an acknowledged expert in the area of sustainable, safe and smart transportation solutions like alternative fuels and autonomous vehicle and systems. It offers solutions with the objective of enhancing quality of life for society in general and to improve profitability for its customers in particular. Fresh from receiving the award for Excellence in Commercial Trucking Safety at the recent Sustainable Urban Transport Malaysia Awards 2017, its Sustainability Manager DAVID LANTZ will spread this safety and sustainability mantra at SLIC.

DATO' PADUKA IR. KEIZRUL ABDULLAH
Chairman, Wetlands International Malaysia
Having served as one of this nation’s top civil servants, Dato' Paduka Keizrul Abdullah will share his vast knowledge and experience on water and environment issues; having been involved in the field of water engineering and environment for the past 43 years. As Department of Irrigation & Drainage’s Director General (1997-2007), he introduced a more environment-friendly approach to solving water and environment issues through a holistic and integrated approach. Keizrul managed the unique SMART Tunnel Project that overcomes the twin issue of urban transport and flood alleviation.

MARTIN GLAUMANN
Market Area Director SEA, Business Sweden
Martin holds the position as Market Area Director for Business Sweden in Singapore from the 1st of January 2018. With more than 10 years in strategy consulting for Arthur D. Little and 10 years in senior management positions in the telecom industry, he has more than 20 years of experience in sales, business development, and change management. Digital and smart cities is two of Martin’s focus topics, his experience includes supporting the city of Stockholm in forming their digital agenda, acting as an advisor to the Swedish government on smart city topics but also supporting industry players in leveraging their capabilities to contribute in developing more sustainable cities. Martin holds a MBA from Stockholm School of Economics and a master of Science in Business Administration and Economics from Uppsala University.

SUHARA OMAR LEITENBAUER is the eponymous creator of Suhara Jewel Art. Together with her husband Helmut Leitenbauer, the name is now synonymous with quality fashion jewellery that has aficionados at home and abroad. Suhara’s entrepreneurial journey is now rounded off with a pursuit of personal spiritual fulfilment which sees the fashion brand moving into the sphere of muslimah fashion.
